A little known fact is that all of Victoria's Wildlife Shelters (licensed by DSE) are self-funded. There is no government funding, no mega grants up for grabs. Wildlife carers do what they do for the love of the animals and the scope of their work is invariably dictated by what they can afford. Since the fires of 2009, we have been extremely fortunate to have received assistance from a number of organisations. These include Landcare Australia, Holden, Lort Smith Hospital, 6PR Perth and the RSPCA. A number of other contributors, both private and businesses, donated funds to Wildlife Victoria to be passed on to Wildhaven.

Volunteer staff from Landcare Australia and Holden - as part of their joint venture H.E.L.P (Holden Environment Landcare Project) have donated a day's work at Wildhaven (on two occasions now) assisting with tree planting and building shelters. Similarly, Landcare Australia organised a day's planting for some generous staff from PricewaterhouseCoopers. Staff from Deloitte Australia have also contibuted an invaluable day's work here. We cannot thank all concerned enough and would welcome them all back anytime.

In addition to the above corporations, we have to acknowledge the local, state, national and international support provided to Wildhaven post fire. Donations ranging from $2 to substantial $'s were made to the shelter from friends down the road to friends of wildllife world-wide. We will be forever indebted to everyone who helped us rebuild Wildhaven from the ashes of Black Saturday and  continue our work with our unique wildlife.

We would like to stress that all donated funds have been used as specified by the respective donor.  Additional funding was needed to complete  projects  and it has came from our  savings.

We are a little older and worn but  will continue to Rescue, Transport and Care for the little ones, two people who love the land and the littles ones, just as we did before Black Saturday.

The harmony and peace has returned to Wildhaven after  3 years.
